Review of REDMI NOTE 7 pro | TechnoGB

Xiaomi relaunched the Redmi Note line-up in India with the launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro on Feb 28. Redmi has introduced a lot of new features in their BEAST phone.

Redmi Note 7 Pro stays true to its ‘Pro’ moniker and offers genuine upgrades over its predecessors. It has a very much powerful chipset compared to the previous generation of the phones and sports a high-resolution true 48-megapixel primary camera . Not as earlier in Note 7 it was just a camera with 12 MP with high zooming power. The Redmi Note 7 Pro features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD Dot Notch display – essentially, it’s a waterdrop notch. The display is protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and at the backside of the phone is also glass which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, giving the phone a more premium look.. Redmi has done a great job by making it full glass body except the side edges because none of the brands gives this type of body in a budget centered phone but now it will be an obligation to all the brands .Talking about the power Redmi Note 7 Pro has an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset which is a very new chipset introduced in the market . In terms of memory and storage, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is offered in 4GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB variants.

Yet another area where the Redmi Note 7 Pro decimates the competition is imaging . Redmi has opted for a dual camera setup in primary with a 48-megapixel primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor which gives the real 48MP , f/1.79 aperture, 4K Ultra HD recording at 30fps and EIS(for stabilization). There is a secondary 5-megapixel camera used for capturing depth information. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera. All the three cameras support AI-backed features, including AI portrait mode, AI scene detection, studio lighting selfie and more. In this phone Redmi has used the AI in their best way.

Redmi Note 7 Pro runs on MIUI 10 with Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. It has a rear fingerprint sensor which is still more practical and way more faster than in-display fingerprint sensors as given in other chinese phones . Redmi has also moved away from its metal design to a glass one – the Redmi Note 7 Pro has Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as the back.

Other features of the Redmi Note 7 Pro include dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type C port. It is powered by a 4,000mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 4.0, although Redmi is still bundling a 10W charger in the box.

The new feature Redmi has introduced is The Widevine L1 support, it is how streaming applications such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video determine that a phone is compatible with HD streaming. Xiaomi recently added the support to its Poco F1 smartphone. Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with this feature out-of-the-box. However, the phone doesn’t support HD streaming on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video yet. Hopefully, these apps will soon whitelist Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro for HD streaming.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro doesn’t come with any IP certification for water and dust-resistance. But it does have a P2i nano-coating, making it splash proof means no problem in rainy seasons. After the launch, Xiaomi conducted a brief tear-down of the phone to show hardware optimizations such as rubberized layering around important modules to make the phone waterproof.

Coming to the price point the base variant of Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro will sell at Rs. 13,999 ( 4GB  + 64GB) and (6GB+128GB) Rs.16,999.
